Crochet Bobble Cowl by Kayleigh

After the successful creation of my first cowl I decided to make another one. This time I used a pattern by Emma Potter. It uses bobble stitch and three different colours.

I used Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky in the colours: Spearmint Green (325), Pistachio Green (324), Seafoam Blue (331). I used 3 Spearmint Green, 2 Pistachio Green and 1 Seafoam Blue all in 100g balls. I also used a 7mm hook. Paintbox yarns worked really well in this scarf. It is really soft and warm perfect for winter.

This cowl was harder than my previous scarf and takes a while. I spent a few weeks working on it. Although, I wasn’t working on it constantly, so for an experienced crocheter it should only take just over a week.

Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky (shade - Spearmint Green (325), Pistachio Green (324), Seafoam Blue (331).

3, 2 & 1 x 100g (3.5oz/149yds/136m) balls.

Weight category: UK Chunky [US 5/Bulky/Chunky].

Tension/gauge: 14 stitches x 20 rows = 4″ (10cm) on size 6mm/UK 4 [US J/10] hook.

The crochet hook Kayleigh used was a 7mm/UK 2 [US 7].

I would give the Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky yarn a 5 out of 5 for the following reasons:-

- It was easy to work and worked up quickly;

- There is a large choice of colours available;

- The feel of it was extremely soft;

- The cost of yarn is very reasonable - I paid about £2.25 per 100g ball and you get a lot on a ball;

- Would I use this yarn again? YES, DEFINITELY.

May all your crafting wishes come true...
